Spotlight on Siham El Habti, the one who brings the Moroccan caftan to life A Moroccan stylist who was elected Ambassador of African Art and Culture in 2011 in Benin

The caftan has been a part of Siham El Habti’s life from a very young age. The woman who grew up in an artistic environment now runs a large fashion house, Dream Caftan, founded by her mother Faouzia Berriah in 1978. After obtaining a scientific baccalaureate, she studied optics. Upon returning to Morocco, she felt the need to express herself and to pursue a passion passed down from grandmother to granddaughter: traditional tailoring. From there, she studied fashion design and pattern making at the Collège LaSalle. In 2005, the young designer participated in the Caftan pre-selection fashion show, and that’s where her success story began.

Elected Ambassador of African Art and Culture at the 7th edition of the Festival of African Integration Stars (SICA), Siham El Habti has managed to shine her talent through a traditional and contemporary art, that of the Caftan. Her creations are the result of real reflection, influenced by her experiences and feelings.

كان القفطان جزءًا مبكرًا جدًا من حياة سهام الحبتى. المرأة التي نشأت في بيئة فنية تدير الآن دار أزياء دريم قفطان كبيرة ، أسستها والدتها فوزية بريه في عام 1978.

Le caftan a très tôt fait partie de la vie de Siham El Habti. La femme qui a grandi dans un environnement artistique dirige aujourd’hui une grande maison de mode Dream Caftan, fondée par sa mère Faouzia Berriah en 1978.

Après l’obtention d’un baccalauréat scientifique, elle se lance dans des études d’optique. De retour au Maroc, elle ressent ce besoin de s’exprimer et de s’adonner à une passion léguée de grand-mère en petite-fille : la couture traditionnelle.

A partir de là, elle entreprend des études de stylisme et de modélisme au Collège LaSalle. En 2005, la jeune styliste participe au défilé de présélection de Caftan et c’est à partir de là que commence la succès story de la jeune femme..

Elue Ambassadrice de l’art et culture de l’Afrique lors de la 7ème édition du Festival des Stars de l’intégration africaine (SICA), Siham El Habti a réussi à faire rayonner son talent à travers un art aussi traditionnel que contemporain, celui du Caftan. Ses créations sont le fruit d’un vrai travail de réflexion nourri de son vécu, de son expérience et de ses ressentis.
